We’re heading to Maryland!

As you may know from some of my earlier posts, we have been not so patiently waiting to learn where Clint will be restationed for shore duty.  Well we finally have an answer!  Yesterday Clint received an email from his detailer letting him know that he has been selected for VX-1 at NAS Patuxent River in southern Maryland.  While we don’t know dates yet, you have no idea what a huge RELIEF it is to finally know where we are heading!  Initially we weren’t too thrilled with the options we had to select from – we so badly wanted Pensacola, San Diego, or Kaneohe.  But we’ve gotten over that, and believe everything is working out as it should.  Both of us are beyond excited to start a new adventure and the next chapter in our lives!  We are still doing research on the area, but from what we can tell it is fairly rural but beautiful and surrounded by water.  There are many cities within 1.5 to 5 hours of driving such as Washington DC, Baltimore, Richmond, Philadelphia, and New York City.  After living on the Pacific coast where all the states are so huge, it will be an awesome change to be able to drive through multiple states and cities in a single day!  If you have any helpful information on the area, or know anyone who does, PLEASE let us know!  We will take all the advice/recommendations/suggestions/tips/connections we can get!

  1. You forgot the best part: that you could have a 'real' friend nearby!P.S. a 'real' friend is a term I coined that stands for someone in your life who you were friends with before the military. Not I say that friends that you meet along the way are any less important or meaningful (or human!), just someone that you have a connection with that has nothing to do with any long acronym, moving, deployments, camo uniforms, etc. You're a 'real' friend and a military friend…. You're the rare combo for me šŸ™‚
